Le 7 juin 2018 Fred Forest marque un nouveau point contre le le Centre Pompidou depuis la Bibliothèque Kandinsky en pré-lancement le « Mouvement pour un art éthique » lors d’un événement auquel il n’était pas invité… Mettant à mal l’institution en dénonçant une fois de plus ses comportements claniques et abusifs à l’égard des artistes qui n’appartiennent pas au premier cercle des privilégiés. A noter qu’au moment même où l’artiste s’apprête à prendre la parole d’une façon sauvage, le critique Paul Ardenne, fervent défenseur de l’art sociologique et complice de toujours lui facilite l’accès au micro… Dans son conflit avec les responsables de Beaubourg il démontre ainsi sa non-violence, voir sa courtoisie comme un sens aigüe d’une ironie. L’artiste sait que le temps lui donnera raison dans un an, dans dix ou dans cent. Peu importe ! Il ne lâchera jamais, jusqu’au moment où l’institution redonnera aux artistes leur dignité. Tout au long de la vie je n’ai jamais pu accepter les injustices de toutes sortes qui sont infligées aux artistes. Je n’ai jamais compris leur passivité à cet égard. Dans notre système de l’art seuls les artistes sont les producteurs de bien, ceux qui en bénéficient en sont les gestionnaires et les marchands… Les collectionneurs aussi qui, avec quelques menues monnaies, confortent leur statut social, ou s’adonnent à la spéculation en passant par les intermédiaires du marché. Les artistes obligés de composer avec tous ces groupes sociaux se trouvent placés à leur merci par leur pouvoir financier ou leur autorité administrative contestable. Seuls les artistes du premier cercle reconnus le plus souvent par copinage, accèdent au statut espéré toute une vie. Les très nombreux autres végéteront sans jamais atteindre le graal tant espéré :
Les choses doivent changer. DOIVENT ET PEUVENT CHANGER. Les artistes doivent résister, s’organiser, agir et rependre le combat pour ne pas être réduit à n’être, dans le meilleur des cas que des sous prolétaires de luxe. Ils doivent commencer, par et pour eux-mêmes, à instaurer une éthique rigoureuse qu’ils doivent imposer au milieu de l’art. Ils doivent collectivement réunir leur force pour déstabiliser, puis pour abattre un système inique qui se perpétue depuis trop longtemps en prenant conscience qu’ils sont seuls en avoir la légitimité pour le faire étant les seuls producteurs de biens symboliques.
Voilà le programme que propose tout simplement le Mouvement pour une éthique dans l’art.
Le moment est venu d’agir dans l’urgence maintenant que nous sommes entrés dans la transition entre le monde d’hier et celui d’aujourd’hui. C’est notre chance à saisir pour nous qui sommes des artistes. Une transition où se manifeste la reconnaissance de la condition de la femme comme égale de celle de l’homme. Les bouleversements du numérique. Les changements du rapport au monde et de mentalités chez les jeunes générations. Le chemin à faire est encore long, très long, pour que les artistes restaurent leur image et reprennent le pouvoir sur leur propre vie. Cela dépend seulement de leur volonté à penser autrement, de leur ambition, de leur courage, de leur intelligence, de leur propension à agir collectivement et de leur capacité d’imagination. Au lieu de se complaire dans la servitude feutrée et confortable où les tiennent le pouvoir de l’argent et celui de structures de l’art dont le seul but vise à leur aliénation. Les artistes dignes de ce nom doivent fonder eux-mêmes à partir de ce jour un ordre nouveau, un ordre social où leur place est reconnue à part entière dans la société à l’égal du politique, du scientifique ou du capitaine d’industrie. Pour cela ils devront se refuser à tout compromis boiteux, et être un exemple pour tous par leur capacité de résistance devant les manipulations visant à porter ombrage à leur dignité. >Alors commencera, pour eux une ère nouvelle.

Artists forced to deal with all these social groups are placed at their mercy by their financial power or their questionable administrative authority. Only artists in the first circle recognized most often by cronyism, access the status hoped for a lifetime. The many others will vegetate without ever reaching the grail so hoped for:
Things must change. MUST AND CAN CHANGE. Artists must resist, organize, act and fight again so as not to be reduced to being, at best, sub-luxury proletarians. They must begin, by and for themselves, to establish a rigorous ethics that they must impose on the art world. They must collectively gather their strength to destabilize, then to bring down an iniquitous system that has been perpetuated for too long, realizing that they alone have the legitimacy to do so because they are the only producers of symbolic goods.
This is the program that is simply proposed by the Movement for Ethics in Art. The time has come for urgent action now that we have entered the transition between yesterday’s world and today’s world. This is our chance to seize for us who are artists. A transition in which recognition of the condition of women is recognized as equal to that of men. The upheavals of the digital. Changes in the relationship to the world and mentalities in the younger generations.
